Question on tax return

For the affidavit of support, do we need to include copies of tax returns or tax transcripts? If so... What will i do if i did not file tax for the year 2009 because i did not work just to focus on my studies. I filed taxes for 2008 and 2010 though.

Attach a note that you did not file since you did not make enough that required filing, assuming that is the case. If not then you need to file. But you did not address the obvious. 2011 tax return. Did you file? If so it may be available as a transcript already. Ours was at the end of March and we filed middle of February.

Always use tax transcripts and not tax returns when possible, no matter what stage of immigration you are at. If you live at the same address as you did when you filed your taxes, you can apply online here,just click on the link under #3. They take about 7-10 days to arrive. If you have changed your address since you have filed your taxes then you will need to call IRS and ask them to send them to you.

I filed 2011 too. Sorry i forgot about that. I checked again and it's 2010 that i did not file because i did not work for the whole year since i was i full time student that time
