A.Salam everyone!

Can anyone please help me at all? I attended interview on JAN-29-2012(Case Type IR-1 Spouse of US Citizen), counsler asked me to submit extra docs and last week I submitted all relevent docs through American Express Islamabad also DNA report sent to USE-ISB last week from US based Lab. Does embassy need to send me receipt that all relevent documents received and AP etc or do I have to call ISB and DOS for an update? (I didn't get any letter/email from embassy yet)

Thanks for your reply and help...

No, they may not send you a receipt.

All you can do is wait. If you haven't heard for a month or so, have the US citizen spouse contact DOS or the embassy to enquire.

When we also submitted our requested document it took them about 3-4 weeks to review. I was able to find out from DOS they did receive the document but penguin is right they don't send a receipt of any form letting you know when they received it.

They do it but in a very inconsistent way there is no way to know what will happen until it does yeah we've been waiting and were told our case was fine by the co and that all they have to Run name checks and his visa can be issued that's all I know

You can't base what's goin to happen to your own case on what others went thru there are many different scenarios and youvwont really know anything until you go thru it

And they will check you but it's their up to them to do simple FBI checks or rum the Washington checks like us

Best of luck to you
