NOA2 forward to?

Hi all.we got approved on 5/16 and just today i got my approval notice by mail.

the notice says...the above petition has been approved ,and forwarded to the listed consulate,

so the question is..isn't supposed to be forward to NVC first?then the consulate?

It will still be forwarded to the department of state who will then assign a case number and forward to the consulate. the NVC is just one of a few places within the department of state who could get if its a k-1. but they only have it a "short time" then forward.

do you mean with the case number the one starts with A?its already listed on the notice.

if not the one.so do i need to cal the DOS to check on it?

That's a BS. ALL K1's are going through NVC where a new case number (starting with 3 letters depending on consulate) is assigned.

Call NVC to find out if they already have your approved petition and what that case number is.

Then NVC forwards everything to the consulate. Time your documents spend at NVC before they are forwarded may vary.

You may call DoS if you prefer. They have access to the same records.
