Alaska unemployment hits 6.9 percent

Alaska's unemployment rate last month dropped to 6.9 percent, its lowest level since December 2008.

The state labor department says the preliminary, seasonally adjusted rate is slightly lower than March, when unemployment stood at 7 percent. Unemployment in April 2011 stood at 7.5 percent.

Alaska's rate hasn't been below 7 percent since December 2008, when it stood at 6.8 percent.

The labor department says that while unemployment rates have declined both nationally and in Alaska in recent months, the U.S. rate, unlike that in Alaska, remains higher than before the recession.

The department says Alaska also quickly recovered from what it calls mild jobs losses in 2009, and that preliminary estimates call for modest job growth in the state this year.

The U.S. unemployment rate for April was 8.1 percent.

Alaska is full of druggies and half the state is on welfare.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Permanent_Fund <---- Alaska is filthy rich. So rich in fact that the state gives every man, woman, and child money every year just for being an Alaskan resident.

Meanwhile California is -$16 billion in the hole and your illegals are getting a free ride including in state tuition not to mention starting next school season every child attending a California public school will begin mandatory homosexual history reprogramming.

Have fun with that. :)

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
