for each person who has felt free to post something negative to say about what she has done, please feel just as free to post just what each of you have done to help a poor family in africa (or any third world country)

its pretty disheartening to know that no matter what anyone tries to do that is good... its just not good enough ( 'they could/should have done so much more' )... there is no gratitude anymore... maybe, just maybe, she is actually just trying to live her life as she wants to... isnt that what all of us want?

Just surprising that someone who makes a living almost solely by writing/singing songs (as well as appearing in a few movies) can inspire so much hatred.

Yea it's cool if Madonna really wants to adopt a kid and is really committed, but one has to wonder if this is just another attention getting publicity stunt. In the long run she is just passing through on the way to somewhere else. Madonna is no Mother Theresa.

No doubts on this score--she's only too well known for tawdry publicity stunts as her popularity has declined (and she has never learned).

On the "writing/singing", more accurately LIPSYNCHING (admittedly, this has never been pointed out to the media).

Personally, Tanya Tucker is much better, both as singer and actress (and looks a decade--in reality age diff is only two months--younger; btw, Tucker is not known for having had a squeaky-clean image)

So, I am a bit confused. Take away the fact that she is a celebrity and this adoption happened much quicker than the average. What's so different from Madonna adopting a child from overseas from multitudes of couples who do this every year?
