221g additional documents pls help

Hi vj and to everyone here

is there any applicants same case with me?my interview was May 7 for k1/k2 visa with my son..everything looks fine and didnt ask too many questions but on the last window the lady gave me white form paper 221g asking for additional documents like fiance's ITR and my NBI clearance then i sent those documents on May 8 and called the USEM on May 11,the lady told me they got those documents i sent them and she told me to call again May 17 thursday which is today,so i called them this morning 8:00 am and i spoke to the lady and she said they already sent my additional documents last Monday May 14 to the consular office and they're just waiting for the result after reviewing our paperworks and she said reviewing documents may take 2-3 weeks so i asked her when i gonna call again to know our application status?and she said call again by next week friday i just want to ask is this the way they work?anyway they took our passport on our interview date and says just wait for the passport deliver to the house after submitting the additional documents,i am confused seems like takes too long

I cannot speak from experience as I have not reached this stage yet. However, there is much to draw a conclusion from on VJ alone. You were asked to provide additional documents. The ITR was required to support the I-134 that the sponsor filled out, and the NBI is a standard requirement for Filipino K-1 applicants. You gave them what they requested so now, it is just a matter of waiting for delivery. From what I have read, yes, this is the way it works in your 221g case. They were simply missing necessary documents. They took your passport at the interview which is a very good sign. I would not worry about this if that is all they requested from you. It sounds like you will be receiving your passport with visa in the estimated time frame that they provided you. It normally takes 1 to 2 weeks for 2GO to deliver the visa even if there were no discrepancies so 2 to 3 weeks isn't any big deal for a 221g request.

The good thing is they kept your passport. There is no way to gauge when to call or when they will finish reviewing your documents submitted. All you can do is wait. I know its painful being in suspense but there is nothing that will make it move faster then it is already going. Be patient!! Keep calling to check on the status. The date(s) the operate is gave are only estimates or off the top of there heads because they don't even know when the consular will complete reviewing the documents.

Then you will need to wait for the visa to printed and sent to 2Go for delivery.

Be patient!! It will come soon enough!! In the meantime go do your CFO seminar if you haven't already. You will only get the certificates. Once you finally get the passport with visa. You will return to CFO and get the sticker and stamp in the passport. Then your done with the process in Philippines.

Big plus - they kept your passport, so once they add your documents to the file and process it your should have your visa.

May be difficult but just be patient....
