Hi all,

I mailed my ROC packet on the 16th of April 2012 and received NOA on the 23rd dated 19th of April 2012. It has been 1 month since I filed my ROC but I havent yet received my biometrics appointment.

I called USCIS today and placed a service request for biometrics appointment. I will go for bio at Baltimore center. Please guide me as to what will happen now. When the service request was recorded they asked me complete details of my name, date of birth, address, pin code, phone, email, mailing address etc. Did they not have these already?

Now what will happen? will I get an email typically or will I get a land mail.

Thank you all for taking time to reply.

You've only been waiting 27 days, which is within the normal waiting times, so I am surprised that they would raise a service request at this time. Normally you would have to wait until after 30 days has passed.

They asked you all those questions to verify your identity and that the information they have is correct. They may send you an email in a few days responding to your request. I had to wait over 2 weeks for a letter.

Yes, I told them it has been just 27 days. After seeing my records they said there was no sign of an attempt to schedule a bio appointment. So they said it makes no difference to wait for 3 more days to make it 30 days. Hence, they registered the service request. I did not request for one.

We were told to wait for the letter regardless that their was no evidence they had attempted to schedule a bio. This was for an AOS, but they said to wait the 30 days. We put in the service request then and about a week later we received the appointment letter. If I recall correctly, we received an email sometime after stating our service request had been granted.

When I raised a service request last year they told me to wait 30 days for a response. It took them a little over a week to generate the letter and another week for the letter to get to me, so about 2.5 weeks in total. The letter said that they had 60 days from the date on the letter to schedule the appointment. My biometrics appointment took almost 90 days. New Orleans is extremely slow at doing anything so hopefully you will get the letter that says you have to wait 30 days and not 60. :) Good luck.
