G325A - Name Change

2 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

When my fiancee(China nationality) was 7 years old, her parents divorced. Her mom changed her name.

Do we need to mail legal documents with the I-129F for this name change?

Her passport, notarized birth certificate, and all "relevant documents" has her current name.

On the I-129F guide, it says you only need to provide legal documents if the name is shown different from current name on relevant doucments. Is this correct? or I am misunderstanding something?

Thanks!

If everything matches the BC, you should be good to go. Did at some point her mother get new BC with adjusted name? I would think if there was really a name change then BC would be different from current name???
