I am a USC planning on going to Nigeria next year September to see my family and my boyfriend. Once I come back to the state I will start on his paperwork for K1-Visa. Does anyone know where I can buy a cheap ticket or when it will be the best time to buy my ticket. Thank you

Prices will vary wildly, I have better luck at the ariline websites direct, such as United.Com. Earlier in the year is supposed to be the cheapest time.

One thing of note, save all of your travel receipts (boarding passes, etc), hotel receipts, take lots of pictures with your BF, etc

Google tickets from your state to Lagos/Abuja.

Also check delta.com

there is no best time to buy, you have to keep checking to see if the price drops or increases and you buy when you are comfortable with the price.

Though some people use agents also. Good luck and safe journey

Prices also depend upon what city you depart. For instance, a ticket from Philly to Lagos might be $1800-2200. If I took a train to Newark or NYC total travel cost is $1100-$1200. I used Hotwire for my last trip and bt-store.com for 1st trip.

I just searched for tickets online using Cheapoair.com for late August into September and found rates from 819.00 to 900.00 RT. Bummer for me because I've not received my passport back yet and I need that number to book the flight. For that time of year its a great price! Last year paid 1298.00RT for same time frame. I've had success too just searching using "last minute flights" or "direct flights". Alexia

Delta does a direct flight to Lagos from Atlanta, always try to leave mid week, its sometimes cheaper. Delta may or may not be the cheapest, depends on your needs.

I just discovered www.skyscanner.com their prices seem better and the also do comparisons without opening up a bunch of windows. I checked one way flights from Lagos to US. If you try to book something and it says $0.00 for purchase then that flight is sold out, but even the next option is cheaper than you may find anywhere else. Round trip ticket was also lower than other prices I've seen.
