We are doing AOS for my wife and her daughter and I believe it is a mistake (I went back and read the instructions and it said minim age was 14),but I received a biometrics appointment notice for my 10 year old step daughter. I wanted to save a phone call, if for some reason I was wrong-- I hate talking to USCIS and the robotic answers :)so if I missed something :bonk: please let me know and I will take her to the appointment :)

Our youngest was 13 when he adjusted. We did not pay a biometrics fee yet he got a biometrics appointment letter and to make matters worse, it was scheduled for the day after Alla's biometrics appointment!

Does your wife have an appointment at the same time? Just bring both letters AND your 10 year old daughter. They will likely waive the procedure but if not...so what? As it turned out we brought both of them to the office the same day and they did do fingerprints for our son, they said he was "close enough" to age 14. Whatever. I did not pay for it. If it got in the system as needing biometrics it is better to have them done, or at least let the local office decide that and officially process the request. No need to call anyone.

By the way, you can do walk in biometrics. Just bring the letter and go when it is convenient for you but make sure it is BEFORE the appointment date. OR make an infopass and just bring the letter with you. At our office we do not even need an infopass.

Our youngest (currently 4) was required to do Biometrics for ROC, they need to update the photo.

Then both of our young guys (other is 7 just arrived last year on IR-2) had to have biometrics for their I-90s, can you believe the little guy's name got messed-up despite being correct for his Conditional LPR card and the other guy's first Greencard was incorrect.

He needs his biometric taken. Don't get confused by the fact that you didn't pay for it based on his age; it doesn't mean he doesn't have to take it. It only means you don't need to pay for it.

Thanks !!! Alla's appointment is one week sooner than her daughter's but I will just take them both the day of Alla's appointment :)

Phil,

Our appointment was for next friday, but since we are going on vacation we decided to take it a chance and do a walk-in today. Guess what, no hassle, no problems, 30 min. in and out and we are done. Saved me time for rescheduling and everything else.

You may as well try walk-in if you have time.
