Happy Days! We filed at the end of November 2011 and just got our NOA email.

Does anyone have a time frame of how long it take to be able to actually step foot in the US from here?

We are married and there are no children involved, the country of origin is Cost Rica.

I was reading the FAQ and I guess the next steps are to;

file I-134 affidavit of support?

file I-485?

Thanks in advance for any info.

First, before you can file ANYTHING, you have to have a case number assigned from NVC. That has been taking about a month recently. You will be filing an I-864 affidavit of support.

Please go to this topic and read the first two posts there. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/365453-nvc-filers-may-2012/ There is a LOT of information you need, so prepare to spend time reading this weekend. The more informed you are, the easier this process will be for you.

Also, please update your timeline. It helps others on here see how long the process is taking.

TY Kerry and Carl,

I will read that, I noticed in a posters timeline that it was still 5 months of red tape before a visa was issued from this point??!!

Wow this is bittersweet news I guess.

I will keep marching on until we are done.
