Hello VJers,

I would like to give you some information in regards to getting a License.

Once you arrive in the US you can get a license as soon as you have a SSN. The only problem is that this license will expire 90 days after you entered the US. You will not be able to renew the license until your adjustment of status has been granted.

If my information isn't entirely accurate please correct me. I just found all of this out today and wanted to let you all know.

u can renew it when u get the EAD as well

That would be great. Thanks, the thought of having to wait who knows how long before I could renew my license was daunting.

All this information varies by state. In PA you can get a 1 year with no GC or EAC.

I got my DL without SSN,

only with my passport and my I-94.

Ok, that is good to now. The information I gave, is true for California.
