Hello all :) ,

I'm brand new to this site. I just found it yesterday actually, and boy do I wish I had found it earlier. It may have saved me from a lot of confusion and a lot of restless nights.

I know I just need to be patient, but since we are young and we were hoping to attend college together, we were hoping that I would be back by August at some point. If not, I may have to enroll in school here in Mexico, and be away for much longer. Is there any hope that I could be back by that point? And I've also tried to familiarize myself with the visas and the names and the basic process :help: , but it seems that the more I try to read and gather information, the more confused I get.

Once I entered my data I got this, "Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between June 17, 2012 and June 25, 2012." So, I most likely won't hear anything until then, correct? Then, it will go to the NVC,if approved, where I will be assigned a case number, and they will deal with the necessary documents that are needed and fees. From what I understand, that is a process of 6 to 12 months approximately? So I can prepare myself mentally, and enroll in school here, most likely I will not be back any time soon. Am I right to make this assumption?

Also, is the K-3 obsolete? Because I keep getting information that seems to contradict one another. A little more guidance would be appreciated. :innocent::)

Assuming that you have no issues with your case or with immigration, the NVC Part of this journey should only take 2 months. You can do it much faster if you follow the guides here. There is a posting on how to fly through the NVC stage. I'll find the link and post it later. Following her instructions, you could be through NVC in a month, maybe even weeks.

I think it is not absurd to think you could be here in September.

K-3 is obsolete. Forget about it.

Good luck!

Thank you. K-3, forgotten. So, the visa I will most likely process is the IR-1/CR-1?

Paola you mention that you hope to return, does this mean something happen as to why you are now in Mexico? You also mentioned that you are young...have you ever over stayed you visa or enter without inspection. i sense that there is something about your case that just might need attention. always feel free to post reliable questions here because there are so many people that can help you by giving their personal experience. this is the best way to do it. By the way welcome to VJ its nice to have you.

Well... I moved to the US as a child. When I was 6, with inspection, but not my visa. To avoid unlawful presence I left before I was 18 and a half, but we filed for the I-130 back in January. So, I've been here for a couple months now, waiting for news. I met Chance when I was 13. He's currently studying in the States. As far as I know though, there are no grounds for inadminisability.

Does that fill in the gaps a bit?

And thank you. :)

Haha no your case isn't A LOT like mine; it pretty much is mine haha. I'm really happy to hear that my husband and I aren't the only ones with this kind of circumstance. It's really a relief.

Your birthday is even close to mine. :):ot2:

I have a lawyer as well, and he's been trying to keep us positive, but I just thought I would ask and it would be reassuring to hear it from a different source and not the same people who have to say positive things. You should be hearing from USCIS any day now though, right?

And yes! Please let's keep updating each other. Good luck to you as well. I bet we will be back with our spouses in no time. :)
