The generation of yesterday paid for your education. They built the roads and infrastructure you use daily. They fought the wars that have kept you free. You owe a HUGE debt to the generation of yesterday!!! But you are a snotty little ingrate that thinks he is owed everything but has no responsibility to the society that has given him so much!!

The wars that kept me free? And which wars would those be exactly? They weren't any of the ones in the 20th century, that's for damn sure.

Oh and this snotty nose ingrate has been paying SS taxes since he was 14, paying for the sorry old fvcks retirement. So they can be thankful that this snotty nose brat is paying for them to drink their ensure and use depends.

Hitler would have never gotten as far as he did if the Brits and the French had paid attention to the warning signs from the getgo. They knew what was going to happen, yet let it happen anyway.

We got involved because we interfered in something that was none of our business (yet again). I have nothing to be thankful for as the United States has not seen a day that it has not been in debt since WWII.

Glad to see you at least realize where a lot of our debt originated. So you do not believe in entering into treaties with other democracies where we pledge to come to each other's assistance if attacked? Or do you think we should have just reneged on our promises? And you really feel it was none of our business?

The fact of the matter is that you live in a SOCIETY! Having a 'society' implies a certain amount of 'social' programs and policies. To a limited extent that implies a bit of 'socialism'! And whether you like it or not, the people of this society, the citizens of the USA, saw fit to elect a government that instituted some very socialist programs, medicare and social security. These programs are overwhelmingly popular with the majority of citizens of the USA to this day! Your attitudes are not in line with the majority view-point. Deal with it or move elsewhere!

Oh please. Save me the 'society' argument. Societal laws are about control. That control is there to keep certain people happy/at the top of the food chain and keep others satisfied enough so they don't interfere with the upper echelon of 'society.' - Do you really think that laws are in place to benefit you, to make your life better? No, they are there to keep those that 'have' separated from the 'have nots' just enough to keep them happy enough not to revolt/start a rebellion. At the end of the day though, you only have many 'rights' as I let you have and I only have as many 'rights' as you let me have. We all have the ability to change 'society' - It's just a matter of how far one is willing to go. Don't think for an instant though that this 'society' is the way it is so everyone can live a happy life and we all 'owe' anything. If anything at all, we 'owe' the past a good swift kick in the #######.

Says the guy that is one catastrophic medical event away from being a mooch. Ever wonder why you aren't taken seriously?

Amusing. You have no idea what my financial situation is. You assume too much.

yes we should and will. we should and will take care of the young and weak too....its not debatable.

No we should not. Maybe YOU should, but "we" should not. You can feel free to donate most or all of your paycheck to taking care of a bunch of old farts who didn't plan for their future and put it on the backs of everyone else. I personally, will plan for my future accordingly and take care of myself however deemed necessary. Even if that means selling my own, my assets, and working until the day I die. Why? Because it's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

We sit here and b1tch and moan about everyone interfering with how humans impact each other enviromentally and how one might effect the other in the health care market and how that's not right, yet at the same time these same hypocrites cry foul when someone doesn't want to pay for someone else's social security and medicare. Don't effect me one way, but please effect me another? Cmon now....

The truth is, social security and medicare have destroyed family units as well. It used to be that you lived with your parents as a kid, then you had your life for awhile, and then you took care of your parents before they died... It was a cycle. Not it's - everyone lives alone from age 18 - death, or in an old folks home... We went from taking care of each other on a family scale, to forced socialism on this society to take care of everyone. Teaching people they don't need to work extra hard at the end of the day to retire, etc... It's lazy bullshit.

 ok. we'll just keep taking your personal contribution and provide for the general well being of society.

on behalf of the old farts and lazy people: thank you paul. :)

Our personal contribution should perhaps be euthanasia to those over the age of 65 who are capable and won't take care of themselves.
