Dear Everyone,

Here's our case:

Im a US citizen through naturalization(im a Filipino too), and my Girlfriend is based in Phils., in a relationship as BF and GF since April 2011, got engaged March 2012.We mET PERSONALLY August 2011 in the Phils, and met again in the US DEc. 2011 and January 2012. MaRCH 2012 MET AGAIN in the Phils.

We are planning to have a Civil wedding here in the US , hopefully this June/July 2013, she will enter through her tourist visa(multiple entry) (Note: she went here last Dec 2011and Jan 2012 for vacation about 2 weeks,) and she will go home and wait for the approval of visa while in the Phils. And we are planning to get married in the catholic church by Feb. 2013.my questions are:

a. IF we get married in civil by end of June/early July 2012, can i file few weeks after the wedding or should i wait a little longer,? any suggestions based from your experiences.?

b. after reading the instructions in filling 1-130, i read the part that states:EVIDENCE Of Bonafide Marriage, since we havent done any joint ownership, bank accounts would this be a problem? planning to prepare AFFIDAVITS FROM THIRD PARTIES TO SUPPORT OUR RELATIONSHIP and other relevant documentation to establish our relationship ( maybe add her to my bank account once we gor married in the US)any other Documents will help us??

c.I already talked to a lawyer about this plan and didnt see any visa fraud issue. comment/concerns about our plan?will appreciate your ideas.

d. for the 1-130 package ( will isend the original or the photocopy first, quite confused from diff. forums.) thanks a lot

hoping to hear from you all...

You can file the day after the wedding if you have your marriage certificate or even the day of it if they hand you your marriage certificate after the marriage.

since she is coming to the USA to marry with you,

it is easier, after the marriage, to generate the evidence.

suggest you two walk into a bank, add her to your accounts.

utility bills also.

you can always wait for filing, until you have the evidence.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
