Expedite Request Sent, Case Transferred?? HELP!!!

I submitted an expedite request last Thursday. On Friday I got an e-mail saying they wanted evidence. On Monday I faxed over 98 pages worth of evidence. Today I get this e-mail:

"On April 25, 2012, we transferred this case to your USCIS local field office for additional processing. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."

I know someone else here had an i130 transferred and you're all saying it'll take another 2-3 months.... what if I requested an expedite? Does this still stand???

We still have the i601 to face... some one help me

It's two hours since you posted, everyone here are lay members, give it some time...

Transfering to the local office is unusual, but not unheard of- it usually happens when there are some big red flags, the petitioner has a criminal background or petitioned for a foreigner before etc. Yes, unfortunately it usually slows down the petition, because it means they are doing even more thorough background checks than normal and possibly an interview with the petitioner.

How your expedite will factor into this is difficult to say, why did you expedite?

I don't have a criminal history, at all, and I've never been married before my current husband though we did get married while he was in immigration jail on a voluntary departure with safe guards. My atty sent our lease agreement (in both names) AND a bank statement that was in both names, as well as our daughter's birth letter and pictures. When I sent my evidence for my expedite I sent an email exchange b/t the leasing mgr and I explaining my (then boyfriend) was getting "deported" (for lack of better words) as well as our lease agreement, again, his pay stubs from the restaurant we both worked at, money transfers via xoom from me to him in El Sal, my bank statements showing transactions for phone accounts (so his cellphone in el sal now and two different jail phone accounts as he was in county then immi)....

I'm a us citizen if it matters and expedited based on finances. I sent 98 pages of evidence.

And sorry for being impatient but I've been without him for 10 months now and still face another 10-18 b/c of the 601 we have to submit

I'm guessing you faxed to the CSC? Give the expedite 2-3 weeks to be forwarded and reviewed. If you don't hear anything by then, put in a service request with the USCIS to find out if they received the expedite paperwork.

No need to be sorry, it's hard, especially when there are kids involved too. I have only ever seen one expedite approved for purely financial reasons, but that doesn't mean it cannot happen. Good luck!

Trojam- yes it was faxed. I just can't wrap my head around why they would send it to a local office and what will happen to my expedite request now...

Spoke to a Tier 2 --- said they transfer cases for quicker processing... not sure why they'd transfer to a local field office, but, w/e. My request hasn't gone ignored, I have to give it another 2-3 days. However, if they deny it will it go back to CSC or what??
