Is there anyone here who has done this? I'm looking into transferring my college credits and I'd like some advice on the subject.

How did you (or your spouse) do it? Did you use one of those institutions such as Wes?

Do all colleges accept those kind of transcript evaluation and transfer?

Does anyone study online? If so, which university, is it good?

I have many more quesitons. Any input on the subject is appreciated.

My wife used ECE to get her foreign (Indian and Canadian) education evaluated. She picked ECE because they seemed to have the most rational policy with respect to some of the peculiarities of Indian educational records of all the agencies listed. This was for state licensing, so the state supplied the list of acceptable agencies. She later went on to do her Masters and that university also supplied a list of acceptable evaluation agencies - fortunately ECE was one of them so she didn't have to do it again. Each college has its own policies.

I have studied online. This was back in 02 or 03 at UMUC... I took information security classes towards a Masters degree. I dropped out after one semester. The coursework was boring and my job suddenly got very demanding so I just let it go and never went back. I wouldn't say UMUC is good but it's probably better than Phoenix.

Nessa, my wife had her credits transferred from Brazil. I'll ask her tonight what service she used. I believe that the college here told her what service she needed to use so that her credits would be accepted here.

thanks.

Sorry Nessa! My wife used CED - Center For Educational Documentation which is here in MA. The college told her to use this service as this was the one they accepted. So it looks like you need to use the service that the school accepts. At least here in MA there is no universally accepted service.

We did. Alla took the TOEFL exam in Ukraine and we used ECE to evaluate her education. It was given full faith and credit.

ALL accept evaluations, some have a preference of which ones. We have had no trouble with ECE. Alla had a couple of her courses online but she did not have only online courses. She went to St Micheals college, but they have a few courses onlne. I think all the colleges do now.
