I've found everything I need to apply for a tourist visa for my wife's mother. It's on http://lima.usembassy.gov/niv.html . Now I just have some questions I'm having trouble finding the answers for.

- What are the visit timeframes for a tourist visa? 1 month? 6 months? more?

- I've seen some people talk about acceptance percent by embassy. Where can I find that? And how can we increase our chances?

- Is there another site or phone number I can call to find out more?

Thanks

If she gets approved for the visa, she will get 6 months maximum alloted stay per trip. There is a slight possibility she will be given less, but that exact determination is up to CBP.

The refusal rate for Peru is 22.7%. http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/FY11.pdf

You should also understand that even though the standard admission time is 6 mo, both CBP and the VOs will compare what she said during her interview versus what she does (or asks for)...if there is a significant difference,.....well....you draw the conclusion. :bonk:
