Will it take 4-6 months or less since my case became concurrent?

I sent my I 130 in January and the AOs in April.The priority date on the NOA is Jan 2012 .Im assuming my case is now concurrent,.So will my case proceed as if I did everything in one step in January? Or will it take another 4-6 months for the process to be over?

Most likely 4-6 months. I-485 is a separate application from I-130 and I-485 alone normally takes 4-6 months - as evidenced by the fact that those who file AOS from a K-1 visa (who do not file the I-130 at the same time) still wait 4-6 months to process. I suppose earlier is possible, though, and exact times depend on your local office anyway.

Yep, you only wasted time by submitting the I-130 as a stand-alone. It will be 4-6 months from when they get the I-485 before you have an interview.

The I-130 is a different petition. It isn't even your petition but your husband's. That priority date is for the I-130 only, which doesn't give you legal status. Your I-485 hasn't been processed yet, so even if it has been matched up to the I-130, it's unlikely it'll be processed as though you mailed it in January. Think about it this way - it has to be reviewed, checked for accuracy, biometrics has to be done (and there may not be appointments available now), etc. It's possible your I-130 could be approved first since it was sent earlier but more likely they'll wait until the I485 is ready to go and do it all together. The processing time for JUST the I-485 is 4-6 months. K-1 and K-3 applicants still have to wait that long and they aren't sending the I-130 with it.

Assume now that your date is whatever is displayed on the I-485 NOA and be happily surprised if it is earlier. That is one reason why sending them separately serves no purpose but to waste time.

At least you're on your way now. You can check similar timelines here on VJ to see how fast things are actually processing in your area - some offices ARE quicker.
