Our cross-town big rivalry football game was last Friday night.

We got our butts kicked. But that's not the story.

The band has a plastic mascot called 'Blue Santa'. Blue Santa is actually an ancient plastic Santa Claus that was still in somebody's yard in September. You've seen these in discount stores - about 18 inches high or so, extremely tacky and sell for about 1.99.

My son and his friends decided he needed more respect. They painted him up blue and gave him all the appropriate markings and symbols of their school. He's been traveling the marching circuit for about 2 years now. He goes to all the football games and band competitions.

He was abducted from the football field Friday night while the band was performing. It didn't take long for the word to get back to our school that the other teams band arranged for the kidnapping.

Now there are pictures of Blue Santa on myspace as a hostage. They've got him tied up and sitting on a toilet in one picture - hanging from noose in another - you get the idea.

I realize that this is kinda funny.....actually its a lot funny as long as they don't .... like put an M80 up his hollow polystyrene body and blow him up. But it's still stealing and it ticks me off that some of the kids from the other band did this. My son is actually pretty good friends with their drum major.

I'd like to figure out a way to nail their little butts to the wall in some sort of way that would humiliate them and teach them a lesson.....but I'm so ticked off right now.....Blue Santa's kinda cute.....I like the old dude...
