How long did you stay for and what are the red flags in your relationship. It isn't unheard of but the more the redflags the more improbable a visa is.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

If I may add a related question too.

I met my fiance in July 2011 (two weeks trip), returned in March 2012 (two weeks trip) and more trips planned during the process but there has been constant communication via Rebtel (with account statement), etc Is this plausible enough for a Lagos approval?

It is imperative to keep in mind Lagos is one of the most difficult if not the number one most difficult embassy to deal with. With that said atl2012 are you planning to be there at the interview as well? if so that is great.

I have not heard of anyone being approved with ONE visit, I could be wrong, search VJ site to see if that has occurred in the past?

It also depends on your so called "RED FLAGS". It is suggested when one is dealing with Lagos to make as many trips as possible and to spend as much time as possible with spouse or fiance to support their relationship as being a bona fided relationship with the embassy.

I am sure others will shed some more light on this subject for you. Welcome VJ and good luck!

What are your red flags? Just making trips to see your loved one is not enough for an approval, you will need to present evidence supporting that your relationship is a bona fide. Read the posts by the members and prepare yourself as much as possible. I would suggest a trip when the interview comes up would be beneficial to your case.

Good luck

atl2012 and sarafa....Pls dont stress yourself out about the visits and length of time Lagos is unpredictable to say the least you can go a million times or one time and it could go either way denial or approval you can go for the interview and it can go either way denial or approval. Now if you have the means to go many times and be there for the interview then by all means please do. But dont think just because you are going and are there for the interview you will be approved. "red flags" need to be addressed evidence need to be compiled focus on those things pay attention to detail and be organized and you will be fine. As the interview nears make sure you review all consulate past interviews...There is no sure way...Goodluck to the both of you no one can really say what gurantees approval when it comes to Lagos. Just know it is a difficult consulate but can be conquered :)

Take as many pictures as you can with the family. The Co's think very highly of the person when they see that you are loved by the family also. It helped me get reaffimed cos I didn't have anything with both are names on it.

Good point Olami. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Family and friend pictures speak close ties and it is very important evidence to be submitted.

I stayed for 10 days in Lagos, took pictures with friends and his family, like about 500 pictures in different areas of Nigeria. It will be really rough trying to get off work to go back there.
