I had 0 income in 2011 and I still dont work but have assets over $100k and my wife makes over $60k and assets over 100k also. She is from Canada and she can get the same job in the US but we dont want to go the TN or H1B route. Do I still need to get a co sponsor for my wife's petition?

Edit: I have never collected EI or Unemployment etc if that makes a difference

Somewhere I read that you can show 3 times assets value vs poverty threshhold. But now I cant find that information. Can someone please elaborate? We are very solid financially and would never be a burden to the state-I have never collected unemployment or state benefits ever. If anyone can answer that I ll greatly appreciate that

Assuming you have no minor kids or other dependants yes, you should be fine. Your assets must be "able to be easily liquidated within one year without undue hardship"- so a second home, savings etc are good. Your own home you life in, only car not so good. We sponsored on assets too- in my case because my USC husband lives abroad with me until I immigrated.
