Hello All.

Recently my wife had interview at Sydney consulate , the officer said the Visa was approved but she did not have Australian police finger print clearance. They said the visa will be processed only after the document is received. After 3 weeks of running around (logistics and mailings ) , finally the document was received by US consulate (verified by postal tracking). Her passport has also been sitting in the consulate for sometimes. How long does the consulate takes to process the visa and send her passport after receiving 'missing' such document? also is there any way to contact embassy other than email? - (No reply to the email listed on the Sydney consulate website). Is it possible to walk to embassy to inquire about it ?

Any advice and tips would be appreciated.

thank you.

No way to know really. I would assume 2 weeks or so.

And no, she won't require another interview unless there's a problem with the police check.

I have emailed the US Consulate in Sydney a couple of times, SydneyIV@state.gov. They usually reply within a couple of days. Include your case number in the subject line. Good luck.
