What Vaccinations are needed to be done before the medical Exam?

We're trying to get everything down so that when our approval comes, we'll be ready to go. Can anyone post a link on what vaccinations my honey needs so he can give his GP and be up to date? He, like most men, cant remember the last time he took a shot so we have to start afresh and we want to make sure we have everything ready before the medical exams.

Thanks

It varies from country to country. Best you can do is to either check your embassys web page for info or contact one of the doctors that the embassy recomends. They should be able to help you

Hi,

I haven't been for the medical yet, but from what I can gather, he will need MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Tetanus. I went to see the nurse at my doctors surgery and she did a screen print from the computer of all my vacinations. The tetanus needs to be in the last 10 years, my last on this record was 16 years ago, but I had one in Spain 5 years ago. Just trying to get the record from Spain now.

A person on here posted what happened at there medical in London and he didn't bring a record of his vacinations to the medical. They gave him the MMR and tetanus jabs (£25 and £35) there.

From other posts on this website, I gather the rest of them can be done later on (I think you need them for the green card) in America. However a lot of people have said it's cheaper to get them done over here. Certainly when I asked the nurse she said I would have to pay and go private to have some of the shots. Except for the Hep B, if I had that it was free and they do it combined with Hep A so I would get that for free too.

Hope this helps! If anyone else has more details or if I'm not quite right let me know! :)

Nope. USCIS requires the same list for every immigrant. Some shots can be waived.

Close but it's not just Tetanus, it's diptheria/tetanus/pertussis (Tdap) or a Td if you have a record of a pertussis immunization.

Yup just go to your doctors surgery but you don't need an appointment to see your actual GP, just the practice Nurse.

Hi,

I read someone else's post yesterday and they strongly advised getting ALL the shots done in England, but BEFORE YOUR MEDICAL. I think the doctor at the medical writes them all down and then you can use this to get your AOS in America. I have made an appointment with the nurse on monday to get it sorted. I will have to pay for them, but it will be nowhere near the cost of having them done in America.
