There is no problem passing medical with period. No one will even ask this at medical. Make sure you get your medical before the interview, or they will delay your visa process.

If she gets her period before the medical and can't complete it, can we still go the the interview on the 13th or do we have to reschedule the whole thing?

What I'd like to know though is if we can still go to the interview pending the medical. I know it's a requirement to get a Visa but is it required to prior to the interview? Will we be turned away at the embassy for lacking the medical exam or will we be just asked to return when it's completed?

If she doesn't complete the medical, I'm guessing she can still complete her interview. I believe I've seen this come up before on VJ. I think the Embassy will allow her to interview, and then they will issue her an MNL-IV-22 (221g) which will note that her medical needs to be submitted before a visa can be issued. I hope I remember correctly on this one. If I were in your shoes, I would proceed with the interview. Best of luck.

Please note: if she has any sexual contact from the time of her last period until the day of her medical, St. Lukes may not allow her to get any vaccinations. St. Lukes will ask her to return after her next period for vaccinations. While Manila K-1ers are not required to complete their vaccinations in order to get a visa, they will have to eventually get vaccinations in order to adjust their status. Just saying...
