Do you think having an immigration lawyer matters at the embassy or interview? I mean are they really intimated or impressed with you having one? Do they see it as being more official or serious?

I dont think you need a lawyer unless you have some red flags that are difficult to overcome or you have a complex case. Which Embassy will you be using? pls feel in the rest of your profile so you can be better advised.....

Well there is an 11 year age gap. Hes younger. He is in lagos. Should I file on my own and wait for problem before hiring a lawyer? I just wish I new if hiring one now would maybe sway the interviewer or not. I dont know if lawyers do anything else other than file the paper work for you. I mean what can they REALLY do?

exactly you have answered your own question what can a lawyer really do? And in Lagos a lawyer or no lawyer there is no "swaying" There have been older women in the Nigerian portal that have been successful. What you need to do is just start and be detailed and organized and make sure u address the age difference like are you out of child bearing age etc....It has been done so it is possible. Goodluck

A consultation with a lawyer is up to you. I would suggest reading the guides and determining if this is something you can do on your own. Unless you have a really complicated case (previous overstays, deportations, etc) it is not really necessary to have a lawyer. A lawyer cannot make the process go faster and the embassy is not going to be harder/easier on you if you have a lawyer.

Good luck :)

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean when you say to make sure you address the age difference.
