Hi there,

We filed concurrent I-485/I-130/I-765/I-131. Our checks were cashed on 15th March. I also filled out the form requesting immediate SMS/email notification but that we didn't get any electronic notification of anything. We got letters through the mail a few days after that and I added the case numbers to my account on USCIS website. It says 19th March they were last updated but I think that just refers to the date I added them on the website.

Anyway, I-130/I-765/I-131 are all at "Initial Review" stage. The I-485 is being processed at National Benefits Center and is stuck at "Acceptance". I've since found that this is quite normal for family-based visas: it probably means they're preparing to arrange an interview at a local field office. But it also says that this Acceptance stage should take two business days.

I realise this is ridiculously early in the application process and the one thing I need to try and cultivate is some patience, but I was just wondering if anyone had any comments on why it's taking way more then 2 days to do this "Acceptance" stage? Some people online with similar issues have said the USCIS website is simply unreliable, and with the failure of the system to send us the initial SMS/email notifications I'm hoping that's the case and that our application is moving along at a "normal" rate.

Relax. You will need some patience. They are very far from scheduling an interview at this stage. The online system is very unreliable, so if they cashed your checks, it's fine. If you freak out about every thing the very unreliable online system says, you'll be at the asylum by the time it's over. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Yup, the game is just started. Be patient and calm... It is only 1 week.

to give you some guidance what people mean by patience, it might say "acceptance stage" for a month. or two.
