Our frequent queries, calls and requests paid off...and I would like to thank the Visa Journey Members ellmoi and uling for sharing with us the best time to call the Embassy...

Before I flew to Manila last thursday evening, I emailed John to call the embassy (best time between 7:30-8:00AM, Philippine time) to inquire about our status and remind them of our request for expedition. Indeed he called them this morning. I was attending a convention when John called me around 8:30 this morning and told me that he talked to a lady and inquired about our case (about my daughter age-ing out and another urgent case). He said the lady told him to wait. After a minute, the lady came back to the phone and told him to ask his fiancee to go to St. Luke's Medical to get our appointment schedule. The lady then told him that for age-ing out, the applicant can go at the embassy for visa interview any work day. My fiance John has to ask the lady 4 times to make sure he heard her right. She answered yes four times. Then John called me and gave me the good news. I wanted to be sure before going there, so I called up St. Luke's and I was able to talk to a very accomodating lady (Maui is her name). I gave her my name. She said that my packet with appointment schedule is already there and I can get it. I asked her if I can get it at lunchtime because I am still at the convention. She said that it is ok because they are open even at lunchtime. Good that our convention was at Westin Philippine Plaza, just a 15 minutes cab ride to St Luke's. The guard near the entrance gave me a number and told me to go to window F (when I told him that I will pick up my packet). John heard the lady right! Our visa appointment read: **ANY WORKDAY 0700AM**.

This is a very wonderful birthday gift for me...my birthday is on Monday, October 9. I want to thank all of you who had been praying for John and me and my kids. Thank you Lord. You are so good. Good luck and Godspeed to all those waiting for their appointment schedules..may they be expedited. May we all get our visa approvals soon and be with our loved ones.

Hi rcars3,

My daughter is age-ing out...meaning she will be turning 21 (she will be 21 in less than 3 months from now) and that would make her ineligible as K-2 (K-1 derivative) if she reaches 21 and she has not been interviewed yet. We requested through emails (NVC & US Embassy Manila) and through mail (John sent a letter to USCIS) of her status. The lady from the US Embassy, according to John, told him that they give the "any workday" appointment for those with children age-ing out. We have read that one has to "alarm" those processing if a child is age-ing out within 6 months. We were hoping that they will give us an early appointment but it is really advantageous for those with kids age-ing out because they give an "any workday" appointment schedule. Really, we were ecstatic about the interview schedule given to us because we can go there anytime as long as our documents are complete. I don't know what other categories are entitled for this kind of schedule. My 2 kids and I will be flying to Manila next Sunday (Oct. 15). We will have our medicals on the 16th. If all is well, we will go for the interview on the 17th or 18th. Then the CFO seminar.

Thanks for all your birthday greetings, your warm wishes and prayers. May God be with you all.

Let us all pray for each other....for all of us here at Visa Journey.

God bless,

(F)
