My wife does not have an A-Number. Should we put 'none' on every line even though the USCIS instructions say to leave those areas blank? I'm scared they might assume we forgot to fill those in. Any suggestions?

Mine is blank as well...I figured if it's asking "if any" its meant to be left blank? I'm curious now as well.

What is your wife adjusting from?

If she does not have an A number (she would def not have one if she has never applied for US immigration before) then put NONE. follow the guides. :)

Also, you only want to fill out the top portion (the rest auto populates where needed on the other pages)

Hey chimcham :) My wife's current status is 'visitor' ... we married last month. (I see that you did too - Congrats!)

GnBnL: I am trying to follow the guides. In one place I am instructed not to leave anything blank but then in another place I am told not to fill anything in. The instructions for Form I-693 clearly says to leave those spaces blank but yeah ... :S :P

Thanks! Congrats to you too! I guess its too late for mine, because they seal those documents and I cannot open it. Oh well. We will see. :)

Good luck with your process...I am certainly not an expert but I am just about finished with the paperwork so we will probably be going through it together.

I don't have an A number either, and has been a source of stress and me flooding this forum with questions :)

I think we'll be ready to send everything in April. Hopefully at the very beginning. My wife has her medical appointment tomorrow. She is a bit nervous ... Doesn't like needles much (who does?) :P How did the medical examination go for you?

I think we'll simply follow the instructions given on the USCIS site and not put 'none' or 'N/A' at the top of every page. They'll know she doesn't have an A Number ... It's clearly stated that she doesn't have one in all the other forms.

No, I would not leave anything blank for the sake of clarity. I put "none" or "n/a" any place it was appropriate and was careful not to leave any blank spaces. :)

The exam was easy! I had to get a tetanus shot since I couldn't find my record of having it 3 years ago. The TB test is easy, they just insert something under the skin, and a quick blood test...easy questions too, she asked me about any family history and mainly made small talk about Canada...lol!

Just bring any record of vaccinations. They only looked for Tetanus and MMR for me (and my age group)

Cool :) My wife is French Canadian so she has to translate what's in her vaccination book ... It shouldn't be a problem. We were told she needs to get a tetanus shot despite the fact she already got it done many years ago. I guess they have to update such shot. Boooo :P

The Civil Surgeon fills in the I-693 form. What are you trying to fill it out? You just do the bio data. No need to stress over blank parts - that's for the CS to do.

Hey Harpa. My wife has to complete Part 1. She doesn't have an A-Number so normally we'd put 'None' but the instructions say not to put anything. I don't think the CS is supposed to fill that particular space ... Only the other parts meant to be filled by him/her.

I couldn't believe when the cs told me I had to go somewhere else for a particular shot - I went there and they charge me $200! One plus for Canada!

I don't believe I filled that out....the CS had all the forms and showed me the one part they wanted me to fill out...it was a vey small section and then I gave it back to them...
