Not knowing your particular circumstances and how 192 days came to pass, it could have been for one or more of a hundred reasons. If you submitted everything in a expedited manner, unfortunately, it could have been that the clerk handling your case had a family crisis and everything on his or her's desk was placed on hold pending their return. Or perhaps there was a RFE and they waited a while for docs to be submitted.

In my very brief experience with this whole process, my impressions are that using an attorney will only slow things down. They have absolutely no incentive to expedite their handling of document submission on your behalf. Further, since due to their case load, I can't imagine they would have any attention to detail at all. They know the general process so will have a general template in their minds and pursue it. There is no guarantee that they have the experience to handle every possible complication and you may be paying them in the end to reseach any resolutions to complications that arise in your particular process. You could easily do this leg work yourself.

Nothing can compensate taking the time and concentration to study the resource on this and other simliar sites, learning the process from beginning to start, getting your documents all ready to submit well in advance and moving it along at your own pace.

192 days sounds like normal processing, but you only filed the expedite request 7 days before your NOA2, correct? Did you receive confirmation that your expedite request had been approved? Does it really matter at this point?

NVC does have a website but you can only do certain things on it. You can check it out here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html More than likely you'll also have to call to receive the information you want.

April 10, 2012: NVC Case Number Assigned, AOS Invoice Received

You were more than likely not expedited since the request was sent in a week before you got the NOA2. 192 days is around normal processing times.

NVC doesn't have a web site you can check your status. Only to pay the AOS and IV bills and to see if they have been marked paid. You can call them at 603-334-0700 and give them your CIS number from your NOA and they can look the case up and give you any information.

You received your NOA2 on March 16. NVC is not going to receive your case from USICS for another 7-10 business days. After that it will take 5-10 business days to issue a case number.

If you have grounds to expedite, you have to do it every step of the way. Your expedite request has to be sent in to NVC as soon as you get an NVC case number.
