Hello,

Sometimes you can changed the font to make an answer fit, but if you have to write it in, you can. Just be neat. 31A means what family member will be accompany him. For example, I wrote in my Step-daughters name in that box. She will be coming with her mother. Remember, the DS-230 is done by the beneficiary for many types of visas, so if a child, cousin, etc were also applying and coming with him they would go here. Since your visa is a Cr-1, then it most likely would be any kids he had, if they were coming. I'm assuming your name is in box 14, and you're american. You're already here, so you won't be coming with her.

Ok, I'll try to explain it again. No, 31a is for any other person coming with you on a visa(i.e your daughter). You don't put his name there.

I am the petitioner and i'm going to pick up my wife in her country. I will try to go inside with her during her Interview, if allowed, if not i will wait outside and give her my passport so she can mention that her US Citizen husband is outside waiting for her etc...etc.. during her interview and show my passport in casual manner.

In 31a and 31b, i put N/A because i'm not immigrating to US. I'm already US Citizen. The question is asking if anyone is immigrating with the beneficiary.

Hope this clears the confusion for you. I was confused also  but as always Saylin and others helped me out.
