Do you have a parent in the US that can write a check for you? Then you figure out how to reimburse them?

does your mom in the usa have access to any checkbooks of yours on that usa bank? if so, have her send you a check from that bank to yer uk address, unfilled.

alternatively - your bank might be one of those that handles 'electronic payments' with paper check printing - if that's the case, have the check made (with the proper 'pay to the order of' filled out by the bank) then have the 'bill payment' sent to yer mom's address.

alternatively - your bank can issue a money order or certified cashier's check - but i suggest to you that you talk to a bank officer at the branch closest to yer mom - you'll want this thing produced locally, and you'll want yer mom to pick it up, and send it to you.

The USCIS will not accept a UK money order drawn on US funds (in US$).

We made the same mistake and submitted a Canadian money order drawn on US funds. It was returned with RFE and we had to resubmit the I-130 package.

Usually, the US citizen sponsor is the US. If they aren't, they need someone in the US to fetch either a US$ money order purchased in the US or write a personal check.

In my case, I was in Canada at the time but I still had my US checkbook to resubmit the check (yeah, I figure out only after the RFE that they would accept personal checks).

Hope that helps.

Good luck!
