Question about my SO's former employer

I am getting married in February and my fiance used to work for the Romanian Navy. Does anyone have any idea if this will affect our being able to get the K3 visa after we are married? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Why would that matter?

The Romanian Government is a US ally. If your Fiance were say for example, in the North Korean military, perhaps national Security issues would be in play. In this case, not an issue.

I think you have nothing to worry about, as military service is considered an honorable endeavor. Provided that the country of origin is not a threat to US interests.

When and what type of work did he do? If he was one of Nicolae Ceauşescu's men there might be issues.

Note that his military history will be asked for as part of his visa application. I don't recall if Romania is on the list of countries for which military records are not available.
