Our interview is on April 13. I understand it could take up to 2 weeks to get the visa back. I need to be back by the 22nd and would like to have her come with me. Can I expedite, if so, do I file the expedite request now?

Nope. It will arrive when it arrives.

Might be nice if you took as much baggage with you as possible, IF you have to fly back before her, so that she has less to struggle with.

Nope. You don't need to do anything, just wait . Otherwise, base on experience mine didn't take 2 weeks. I got it like 6 days after. Well, everyone has different experiences thou but like I said you just have to wait. Goodluck on your interview!

It will be issued the day after you leave, (ask me how i know). I have read about folks getting the actual visa in a few days, but it is not the norm. Ours took two weeks, (maybe a little longer). The Embassy does thousands of these visas every month; if they expedited one, everyone would want theirs expedited. Actually the lady at the consulate asked me if I had read the website notice about when you should make travel arrangements.

Do as many have done in the past explain your situation to the CO, and ask if you can pick it up after it is stamped, and unless they are having a bad hair day, they will most lickely say yes.
