Hello. I thought I'd start a support group for those of us that recently filed DCF this year.

I think it's a difficult process waiting, and wondering if you're doing everything right. It might be nice to have an outlet and people you can talk to that understand how you feel.

Anyone interested?

I don't know how it is in Philippines, but yes. You have to be married. And here, you have to live here for at least 6 months to start. Good luck!

Im a May filer :) We sent it off 4 weeks ago and got NOA1 after a week. So its only been 23 days but i like to think of that as a third of the way to NOA2

pnyvibe78 - Not sure about the Philippines either but as GirlWithAGerman said, you will need to marry there. The USC also has to live in the UK for 6 months before you can do a DCF. So that would be need to be something you look into.

I am an American citizen about to marry a Mexican national. We have been living together in Mexico for 2 months. We will have our wedding on the 16th of June. I will be filing for my FM2 on Monday. Once I receive it(was told it takes 30 days to get), we plan on starting the DCF process. Is there any members that has recently completed the process here in Mexico? We would like to talk to them to get all the details of their experience. I have a home in America with a 17 year old son living there, so we would like to get the visa ASAP.

We'll be starting the process of DCF in Seoul next week. We'll see how long it takes...

Hey Scott! We're not in Mexico anymore but I know several people through immigrate2us.net who DCFed there recently. It's cool that Mexico lets people DCF as soon as they have their FM2, multiple people on immigrate2us have succeeded at that, while in most parts of the world it seems we have to reside for 6 months with the visa before they let us DCF. Anyway, we've gathered a lot of Mexico-specific DCF info there. You can check out this thread for the info we've assembled. Good luck!

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

I live in Peru and will begin this in mid-July.

I will be bringing my I-130 to the actual embassy. So all of the tips I read about "tracking" packages is not for me, correct?

Also, I have no checking account. In fact, I dont even know anyone who does here. I'll just walk up to some window and pay in cash, correct?

Does anyone know if it MUST be American currency?

Visa or debit card acceptable in most locations?

MFA - in Germany we have to pay in US currency, not in euros. Can't say if it's the same in Peru. But if you have a credit card you can pay that way (it's what we did, cheaper & easier than exchanging currency!)

Pre-VISA

November 14, 2009 - met randomly in a park in Atlanta, talked 1 hour

November 16, 2009 - started emailing daily

December 11, 2009 - flew to DC for a weekend to visit

September 1, 2010 - I move to Germany!

September 9, 2011 - Married <3

German Visa

December 20, 2011 - applied for German visa

February 9, 2012 - interview

March 26, 2012 - temporary 18 month greencard!

US VISA

April 3, 2012 - mailed I-130s to Frankfurt

April 11, 2012 - NOA1 mailed

April 13, 2012 - I-130 payment authorized

April 18, 2012 - NOA1 received

Impatiently waiting for NOA2......

These are all things you might have to check directly with the Embassy about. They all vary at each Embassy and Consulate. I scanned Lima's website and it did not have a lot of useful info so hopefully you can find some other Lima DCFers who have done this.

Although it doesn't exactly answer those questions, you might find this post useful:
