I'm thinking ahead past the NVC stage and trying to figure out what comes next...

Does anybody have experience with the London consulate as far as when to schedule the medical? Do we schedule that before the case leaves NVC, or after it's been approved, or after it's received by the London consulate? I know it has to be done before the interview. Does it have to be done before the interview can even be scheduled?

You can schedule your interview as soon as you have your LND number. It doesn't have to be done before the interview is scheduled but it can be - mine was. The results are valid for twelve months.You will also need to take your Police Certificate to the medical.

Interesting... those results are sent to the consulate though, yes? What happens if they receive your medical results before NVC sends your file?

You cannot book your medical without a LND number, so you have to wait for that. Once you have it you can go ahead and book your medical.

you take the risk of them getting misplaced. it doesnt happen often but it does happen.

there is no real need to jump the gun with any of this as it doesnt save you any time at all hardly... maybe a few days or something. the medical can be taken within days of calling them for an appointment and it then takes 4 days for the results to be delivered to the embassy. once the embassy has all the required forms and the medical results logged in then they will assign you an interview date

I agree - unless something comes up at the medical! My x-ray apparently showed something on my lung and I had to have a scan. That was completely clear but it took a while to get the appointment and then the results and my medical results were at the Embassy just a day or so before my interview. It was a stressful time on both counts and I am very glad that I had the medical early.
