Hi, I'm looking to get US citizenship as my Father is an American...should be simple enough, but I will also have the problem of my children being born in the UK, as I have never lived in the States they cannot get citizenship through me. I was told that they need to be sponsored (by my Dad hopefully) and they become citizens once we've landed...not sure how true this is...Hope things work out for you x x

Please start your own thread to ask your question. Having multiple cases being discussed in the same thread tends to muddle everything.

You are not a US citizen, so there is no way for your father to transmit US citizenship to your children. If you were a US citizen, then it may be possible for your children to immediately naturalize if they were under age 18 under INA section 322.

As Boiler pointed out, US immigration laws does not allow a grandparent to petition ("sponsor") for a grandchild.
