I know the process of the I-130 and the visas. My question is that I am getting married in Honduras in June. My soon to be wife has a child and the child's biological father has abandoned him. is there anything extra I need to do other than a I-130, CR-2?... do we need to find the father and get his permission for the child to Travel to the USA?. The child's father is not listed on the Birth certificate. Also could I put my name on the Birth Certificate? would that cause problems with the I-130?

Don;t put your name on the birth cert unless you are legally adopting the child, it could cause complications.

The rules will depend on Honduran law- in most countries, if the bio father is not on the birth cert and has no custody/ guardianship rights, the mother can just take the child to the US, but in some countries you need a notarised letter from the bio father allowing such.
