Hello everyone at VJ,

I need some help from you guys regarding some questions in the i 134 affidavit of support, i know they might sound stupid but i really want to avoid mistakes at this point..sorry if u find this post too long to read...

Q1.In question num 7 it has a part saying "I have on deposit in savings banks in the United states $ ____________ "

(Actually there r two types of account one is current and other is savings, my fiance only has current account and no savings account now what does the question actually mean? does it mean any amount save in bank whether in current account or savings account OR does it mean amount which is present ONLY in savings account? what should she fill in that? she has no savings account

Q2.in Q11 it says "I intend OR donot intend (if u check intend indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions for example if u intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in US dollars and whether it is to be given in lump sum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.)

( what shoud b its answer?? N/A (K1 PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE?) ???

Waiting for a positive response from u all

Thanx ...

I just sent my i-134 a couple of weeks ago and for the question about "do you intend..." I checked i intend and then stated a couple of sentences about what i intend to provide for him.

The Islamabad Embassy never said anything about it. But I have also heard people just putting n/a and k1 process for permanent residence (this is what the sample form said too)

I think either one is fine.

When your fiance enters the US you will be filling another affidavit called the i-864 that requires more evidence about your income and is "more legal" than the

i-134.

For now, the embassy just wants some proof so that your fiance does not become a public charge.

good luck, hope that helps.

And i am not sure about the savings account question.

Check the example forms. Note that if your income is clearly sufficient, you may simply leave blank all the asset related questions.

My preferred answer for Q11 is to check yes and then enter "I will fully support my fiancee and then spouse as a member of my family." In reality, the question is Not Applicable to a K1 visa case.

In the Oath section, I interpret that line as providing your (the USC) initials and then your full signature and date just below.

On the savings account, question, if your fiancée opts to complete that information (as noted previously, not necessary if the annual income is sufficient on its own), she'll need to provide a letter/statement from her bank noting her account(s), when they were opened, total amount deposited in the past year, and current balance. This is described in the I-134 Instructions on page 1.

The bank account combined is looked at secondary. The primary concern is the annual income of the petitioner and that person meeting the income level to support the beneficiary.
