Hi VJ Folks:

My fiance had lived outside of Colombia (in two other South American countries)

for more than 6 months. We are trying to get her police certificate by granting power of attorney to

the citizens of the two respective countries to get them for her and it's been a pretty lousy experience so

far running into bureaucracy there, among others...

Could someone please share their experiences with this issue: How they you it? Through friends or an agency, etc?

Does the USC really care if you don't have?

Any help will be appreciated (wilrouf@gmail.com).

Many thanks!

Wil & Monica

Hey Wil!

Remember you asked me this about her report from Argentina? I replied to your messages and I even linked you to instructions on how it get it from Colombia, without having to grant a power of attorney to anyone here. Check your messages and see if you find my reply, if not, I'll be happy to re send it.

Oh and by the way....I got mine done a couple of weeks ago. While the process is simple, it's also personal, because they take your prints.. so she's better off getting it with the instructions I gave you. Just remember, as per the US Embassy in Argentina, all police records need to be requested with "Excepcion al articulo 51 del Codigo Penal" which means they search in the entire country.
