Question about RFE's

When I received email notification of my NOA1, I received the NOA1 2 days later. 2 days is about normal from California to Arizona. Can anyone tell me if they looked at the postmark on their RFE and compared it to the date they received it?

The main reason I am concerned is that we have a new mailman in the neighborhood who has been known to get the mail mixed up leaving mail in the wrong box. I am considering having the post office hold my mail and personally pick it up.

I guess my real question is, when others have received a notice that their RFE was mailed, was it mailed on the date of the email notification or was it actually mailed some time later?

I received an email on June 23 that my RFE was mailed. The postmark said June 29 and I did not receive it until July 10. I would not worry until 3+ weeks have passed.

TucsonBill,

As usual, I agree with Kit.

The e-mail and actual "mail" are miles apart. In my case, every piece of correspondence from CSC was 7-10 days behind the e-mail.

As they say in Indonesia: Jam Karet = Rubber time. CSC advises a "mailed" date, the postal stamp tells the truth.

I think it's best for you to wait until you receive the RFE over snail mail, just be a bit more patient. My email for RFE was dated 9/15 however the post mark date was 9/19 and I received it 9/21 in the mail (of course I only live about 40 miles from the CSC).

TucsonBill,

Very difficult to call CSC. Even if you get through, the knucklehead on the other end will not know the reason for the RFE. Just wait for the paper in the mail.

By the way, here is the William33 party line on RFE's:

When you send the RFE evidence back, send it USPS Express ($14 and change).

On the front and back of the USPS provided document Envelope, write the following: ATTN:RFE in red marker.

This is the information on the RFE envelope supplied by CSC.

You may want to write your case number on the envelope, as well.

It will then move through CSC very fast!

Is it possible to call them and see what the RFE is for? will they tell you over the telephone?

Bill,

It would be a coincidence - the e-mail notification system and sending the notices are two separate processes.

Yodrak

....

I guess my real question is, when others have received a notice that their RFE was mailed, was it mailed on the date of the email notification or was it actually mailed some time later?
