:D:D:D Got the email today that the I130 is approved. I am very happy about this, but also a little confused if any action should be taken on this. The I129f was just approved last week and hopefully has been forwarded on to the NVC. So what is to be done right now with the I130. Does that process continue on while the K3 is being approved. Do I need to pay the fee for this IV now? Will this speed up the adjustment of status process once Sam arrives here?

Thanks for any info about this. I have looked in the help areas, but am still confused on this issue.

If you can afford it, it appears that the best option is generally to pursue both. K3 only stays at the NVC for a very short time and then moves to the consulate. Whereas the I-130 can be at the NVC for much longer (sometimes 6 months) and then gets sent to the consulate.

If it's a difference of a couple months its worth it to me to pay the extra fees to get Michael here sooner, and then send him back for the I-130 later. And, if the K3 and the I-130 end up at the consulate at the same time the consulate will automatically switch to the I-130. Hope this helps a bit, I'm no expert, but this is what I'm going to do. And Congrats on both approvals!!!! :)
