Early touches

Hi All,

I am glad we got a touch today, having the 129F received on the 27th...I am just a bit paranoid that they may be requesting further evidence or something of that nature. I didnt receive an e-mail to say I have been touched and when I clicked on it, there was no status change. Am I just being paranoid? What could these touches mean? If they wanted further evidence, they would email or mail us right? Thanks for any help guys!

I don't believe there is any way to know what the touches mean. Our I130 didn't recieve any touches and then today I come home and check my email and there is the approval. So obviously they were working on it, but didn't show. I wouldn't get too excited about the touches only when you get the official approval notice!! Although I know our I129f was touched once before approval and made us feel so much better that at someone was doing something with it. It is very hard waiting and not knowing what is happening with your application, I know.

I've often heard the explanation that a very early touch means that they are applying the payment when your check is cashed. We are only a day apart on timelines, and I was touched on 10-2, and I assumed that's what it was. Good luck

Thanks! My hubby checked his bank online and Chicago cashed the check on the 28th and we had a touch on the 28th. Maybe it has now just processed?

I just hope it is not a request for anything... I would like to assume they would mail us for something of that nature?

They do work on the file just putting in the payment info on the file and obviously when was the payment processed and stuff. I believe thats why you get early touches and obviously, the case gets forwarded from department to department. I received early touches as well but then it was nothing. If they want to send you request for evidence or anything your status would change to something like: We sent a letter dated this, if you haven't recvd it please call this number" and stuff.. but since the status is not changed then its just regular work being performed. No need to be worried.

We got another touch today, but no status change. I was just worried about it being a RFE and it not being mailed. Thanks for your help guys!
