Hi everyone! Just an update to my status, on February 16 my daughter and I went to the DFA to get her passport, we completed the docs needed and we got ready for the encoding section. we had to wait for 300 numbers before our numbers to be called. then we were happy when our number appeared in the screen, my daughter was so excited to have her picture ( for her passport) until the man noticed the stye on my daughter's eye. ( the stye was small btw) we were sad when the man told us she will not be able to take a picture because of it. ( which i find it, stupid reason). My daughter really wants to come with me too (k2) so she agreed to do a microsurgery. February 17 3pm she had microsurgery in her left eye. the doctor gave us a medical certificate to show in the DFA. I just wanna know how long is the validity of the NVC approval, our case approved on January 5 and left the NVC on January 31. and until now we haven't schedule our medical and interview yet. thanks for the help.

The NVC "approval" is good forever and ever. However the USCIS approval is valid for only four months and THAT is what you ne edto be aware of. I can be extended another 4 months by calling the consulate and requesting an extension. Your petition will expire 4 months from January 5.

Like said you have 4 months so by the beginning of May you will need to have scheduled your interview or have contacted the embassy to keep them informed and get an extension if needed.
