I have been living in the US since 1980 with a resident alien card. Recently i have been looking to apply for US citizenship but i no longer have my birth certificate. Is it possible to get a new birth certificate and what would i need to do to get it?

Can you obtain citizenship without a birth certificate? I have been married for 3 years now.

Thanks,

Were you born in Brazil? You should probably be in touch with a Brazilian consulate or embassy for that.

Never asked nor required to supply a birth certificate for the applicant, your green card should suffice. You are applying for the five year, copy of your green card, application, check, and two passport photos they won't even use now is all you need to send in.

For the three year marriage, want to see a copy of your spouses birth certificate or US passport, just as proof of US citizenship, but never for the applicant.
