Hi there,

I am not using DCF but on the IR-1 trail, for the most part from what I have seen on here people get their NOA 1 or first contact after a few days or a week after the USCIS have received their I-130 package. In our case we did not for a month but I would not panic if this happens with your case, this was normal. They said if I had not heard anything after 30 days I should call them. We then waited the most part of 6 months for the next contact or NOA2. I am not sure if this applies to DCF but I hope it provides you with some info.

Snail mail is painful  but I just got all the info ready for the next step by researching it on here in the 'Guides'. When they looked for information then again the documents were already in the US as I had posted them in advance and saved a wee bit of time.

I wish you all the best on your journey and hope it goes as quickly as possible

Cheers

Well, you can look at the few timelines that have been filled out for DCF Peru but they haven't been done often and everyone follows a different pattern since there isn't a clear NOA1, NOA2, Packet 4 division, etc. for the Peru DCF.

Our I-130 approval was dated 3 weeks after we submitted it. We received it at our home in Cuzco one week after that, so four weeks total waiting. That approval came with the interview packet. Your results may vary, depending on what area you're in (i.e., in Lima, you'd probably get it sooner).

I would think that if you haven't gotten the packet in 4.5-5 weeks that it would be reasonable to contact them, as a lot of VJ members report interview packets being lost before getting to them.

Oh, and I just noticed the NVC category on your signature. You're not going to be sending anything to NVC. You already know that though, right?

Yes, I'm in Lima (Miraflores) so maybe mine might be a bit quicker. As for my signature, I actually just copied and pasted the signature line and changed to my info. Bad Scott :bonk:
