Here I am once again know wondering about the I-864, so me and my husband live with my father and my mother who file taxes jointly. I currently do not have a job but will soon hopefully, so my had will be co-sponsoring my husband. I know I need to file form I-864 and my father needs to file I-864, my question is whether my mother has to file form I-864 or I-864a if at all?

Thanks

You live with your parents, you will sign I-864 option A for question 1, your father will sign I-864A.

She doesn't need to fill out anything if her income isn't being counted.

If your father makes 125% of the poverty level or better for his household size (himself, his wife, any dependent children under 21, any other dependents claimed on their taxes plus your husband), then no need for your mother to fill out anything. She would only need the I-864A if she needs to combine her income with your father's to reach the 125% level. The tax transcripts and/or W-2s show his individual income.

Just wanted to clear something up too: Just because someone lives with their parents does not mean the father has to fill out an I-864A. It is perfectly fine, and sometimes better and easier, for them to simply fill out their own separate I-864. There is no requirement to use the I-864A when living with someone.
