Hi, i receive an email from the consulate statng that my fiancee is having her interview on the 7th of march which indicated on the letter and we're both really anxious and nervous at the same time. Now i got some questions stuck on my mind:

1. the 7th of march is the first day which is the document intake correct?

2. does she pay for anything during the document intake day or after being approve and then pay for the fees?

3. does the VO recommend the petitioner to be there to support her and the approve rate is higher compare to not being there during the interview?

4. I received an email from the consulate stating that they do not send out packet 4's anymore because everything now is electronic which means downloading the forms online and printing it out. Anyone had this experience before?

thanks!

Yes, the 7th is for document intake. Our appointment email letter showed 12:30 p.m. as I suspect yours does too. At document intake, my wife's appointment letter was stamped with instructions to report for interview the next day at 7:30 a.m.

If you paid for the AOS, IV application and Medical then there should be no other fees except for the EMS waybill that will be given to the beneficiary at document intake. The EMS waybill of course is for the return of your wife's passport and sealed envelope and is payable upon delivery. The wife said she paid 77RMB but it can vary depending on weight of package and destination.

If you filed electronically the beneficiary will not receive the P4 packet/Appt. letter by mail. The appointment letter you got in email now serves as the P4 packet as it gives the appointment time, docs needed, instructions, links etc .

I am not aware of any VO recommendation for the petitioner to be there. I do know for sure, in general, the petitioner is not allowed to be with the beneficiary during the interview.

Good Luck!!

Ken, I am sorry I misread your visa type, I thought you were doing CR-1/IR-1. :bonk: Don't know how I misread "fiancee" with "wife", silly me.

ken - visa application fee is to be paid at CITIC, prior to the interview - the receipt is asked for. There are no monies to be paid AT the IV unit, but expect to pay 20 to 100 rmb for the EMS package/label at the EMS desk [amount varies based on where it's going]

Now would be a great time to read all at the GUZ IV webportal for FORMS collection and instructions - see:

GUZ IV forms http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

and pay particular attention to the OF-169 and the medical forms.
