How long til NVC receives it? and what is going to be sent to them? :help: I have a lawyer but i like to keep myself informed and dont believe blindly. And how long does it on average take to complete your case once they receive the paperwork? Thank you al VJ'S for your wisdom!

Congrats minicyni....!! great news! my priority date is Aug 15th and still waiting for NOA 2. I inquired about that with 2 of my friends learned that we will need PCC...Police clearance of the immigrants and Choice of agent need to be filled and u can call NVC and inquire the status of ur case, get case number. Majorly PCC is important they will need that and I have my husbands already handy.

our stats are below this message. Our NOA1 to NOA2 time was unusually short. We had a delay of about a month with our IV application with NVC due to an RFE we had to clear up. If you can and opted for email submission of documents, the time with the NVC can be a lot shorter. Learn the process as you go and use the forums to figure out what document requirements are coming up. If you have them collected, scanned & ready to email in immediately when they request it then things go as fast as they possibly can.

Good luck!

There is a very good guide located here:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

The main items will be the Affidavit of Support form which is used to show that the person petitioning you has sufficient income to support you. A joint-sponsor can be used if necessary. You will also need to obtain a police certificate from any countries in which you have lived since the age of 16. There are a few other documents like your birth certificate that will be required when you submit the DS-230/260 to NVC.

Good luck on the rest of your journey!

Will you be attending the interview at a consulate in Mexico? If so you will be submitting the DS-260 which is the electronic version of the DS-230 form. Your attorney should of course know all of this, but just in case :)
