Can you give us the dates for NOA, FP, IL date? We'd love to have a whole picture about your case.

got a noa in 3/1/12, did the fingerprints in may, got the interview notice about a month ago. and today was the interview.

so here are the details..Today was my inteview. To summarize, I spent more time waiting than in the real interview.

I went alone (my wife works) I was listening to the uscis cd in the car, got to the place, started reading the guide, just to avoid thinking.

waited about 15-30 minutes (a woman from Canada and her teenage kid were first for citizenship before me).

he called me, "how are you" he said. "I'm glad to be here, rather than outside" I said and we both laughed. We went to the officer's desk.

"let's do the test first to take it out of the way" said which I agreed.

questions:

- name a state that limits with Mexico (CA)

- why there are 13 stripes in the flag (13 colonies)

- which ocean is on the west (Pacific)

- who wrote the declaration of independence (Jefferson)

- name 3 states that were colonies (SC, NC, GA)

he asked me to write "we have fifty states" as the english test (I believe he just made that out "on the fly")

then he asked me where I work, when was the last time I left the country, we went through the same questions that are in the form already answered..and basically that's it.

I assume my case was not that complex because I did not have any outstanding issue, like time out of the country, or taxes, or DUI, or things like that. However that's not always the case..a relative recently got her citizenship application denied. I won't go into details, because it will be only my personal opinion, but I can say that he checked in my case key indicators (taxes, being out of the US, etc) and we moved on with the interview.

a person that was with me from Ecuador also got the citizenship too. So we were 4 that day that got approved. The ceremony is in a week.

Total time was about..90 minutes approx (most of that was just waiting time)

Congratulations! :dance: it was a great experience. I'm glad that your interview went smooth. Did the IO give you the oath letter or will it come in the mail?

And Pepe, is your citizenship based on 3 year mariage?

Well I am now a United States citizen!

Interview at 8.20am and oath ceremony the same day in Portland, OR at 1.40pm. Registered to vote after the ceremony and applied for my passport today!
